There was no rest this past weekend for Company Secretary Heidi Cotton and Project Manager Andy Pace, as both donned lycra and helmets for this year’s Chester Liverpool bike ride in aid of Claire House Hospice, a charity for which C&C are proud to continually fundraise.

All challengers were up early to meet at the Countess of Chester Health Park to begin their 25 mile route, passing through North Cheshire and the Wirral, before entering the Birkenhead (Queensway) tunnel and finishing the ride in Liverpool.

Whilst the weather was kind to the participants, Heidi knew the ride wouldn’t be without its challenges, commenting, “It was a great event to take part in, especially with my family – my son is only 11 and he did really well. You don’t realise how steep some of those roads are when you’re in the car, the Birkenhead tunnel was definitely the hardest part!”.

Last year, the bike ride event raised over £26,000 for Claire House, with efforts this year hoping to top this figure considerably.

Both from C&C finished the 25 mile trek in fantastic time, with Andy Pace coming in at about 2 hours, and the Cotton Family only shortly after at 2 hours 10 minutes.

Congratulations to Andy, Heidi and families on completing this great event, and for fundraising for such a great cause!
