Will running Rotterdam Marathon last year with twin brother George cheering him on (taken two years after beating kidney cancer and one month before diagnosis of four brain tumours).

C&C CAD Designer Jack Phillips is lacing up his trainers to complete the Rotterdam Marathon on 9th April in memory of one of his best friends, Will, who sadly passed away last year after losing his second battle with cancer at only 24 years old.

Along with 15 of Will’s friends and family, Jack will be running for CLIC Sargent (Cancer and Leukaemia in Children) to raise much needed funds for the valuable charity, supporting young cancer patients and their families.

The team aim to raise an impressive £10,000, and every donation is greatly appreciated for the incredibly worthy cause. The charity is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and an organisation close to Will’s family due to their unwavering support.

(Images [l-r] 1) 5 weeks after surgery and against doctor’s orders, Will, Jack & George flew to watch England v Iceland – Football mad Will asked doctors 5 minutes after surgery if he could go to the Euros. 2) Will with his hero Stylian (Stan) Petrov, former captain of Aston Villa who was sent into retirement with Leukaemia. 3) Will four weeks after brain surgery, with Jack (right). 4) Will with twin brother George at the Euros. 5) Will running the Rotterdam marathon last year before his second diagnosis.

C&C’s Jack commented, “We are really proud to be running the Rotterdam marathon for Will, especially since he ran this same marathon last year after beating cancer for the first time, and just one month before his diagnosis of four brain tumours. And most importantly, the place where Will’s beloved Aston Villa were victorious in winning the European Cup back in 1982! We’ve set ourselves a huge target after seeing the support the charity can give to families like Will’s, and we hope to smash it. We are grateful for every single donation, so if you have already given or are thinking about it – thank you very much.

If you would like to donate to support Jack and Will’s family & friends, or for more information into their cause, please visit their Just Giving page.

From all at C&C, well done Jack and good luck!
