First opening its doors in 1936, the uniquely shaped hotel (designed around the aircraft after which it was so called) required new catering facilities as part of its refurbishment that reflected the golden age of travel, glamour and sleek design, and C&C were delighted to undertake works at the impressive site.
As part of the extension and refurbishment, C&C worked across the main kitchen, basement storage areas with cellar cooling and bulk cold rooms, and new bars with front and rear sections. Brands used on the Hatfield-based scheme included Charvet, Precision refrigeration, Foster cold stores, Meiko, Proline and Select fabrication, with ISG as Main Contractor and Rosemary Hare at Foodesco as Consultant.
Works at the luxury hotel were required to be completed to a very tight programme in order to ensure there were no delays in the venue’s highly anticipated re-opening. C&C Catering Equipment Ltd worked on the project from April to August 2019, with a two week window to fit the job out.
C&C Catering Equipment Ltd’s Senior Project Manager Keith Hartharn commented, “We’re delighted to have worked at this well known local hotel in Hatfield, and it was great to work with this consultant again. We’re proud to have been a part of creating a quality foodservice environment that reflects the luxury experienced throughout this fantastic venue.”
