Two weeks at C&C

Hello, my name is James and I’ve been doing two weeks of work experience at C&C Catering Equipment LTD.

On my first day I was fairly surprised as the company and the offices weren’t as I expected. The staff were very friendly and easy to talk to, and they also helped me if I needed it. The office was a great environment to be in as you got the work done whilst talking to everybody and having fun.

Over my two weeks, I have been learning all about CAD design and have even managed to do some of my own. I worked my way through three text books that taught me from scratch. I learned how to draw lines, draw circles and put more complex drawings together, and at the end of each book was a self-assessment that tested what you learned throughout the book to see what you had learned.

I enjoyed the office environment the most as I found it fun to be in. I was worried most prior to my placement about the offices, so it was nice to see how they were really like. Over my two weeks at C&C Catering Equipment LTD I have learned new skills such as CAD, but I have also been able to apply some of the skills I have learned in school to real work place situations which makes me feel more confident for when I come to leave school.
