We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been successful in our tender for the extensive new catering facilities at the iconic Tate Modern on London’s South Bank.

After successfully completing what our Project Director Paul Parry described as “the most rigorous tender process he has been involved in during his 30 years in the industry”, we will begin work in the next few weeks and will be on site until mid-2015.

We were originally approached in mid-2013 and began the in depth pre-qualification process. We were then asked to tender alongside all of the other successful applicants and following six separate meetings to discuss the tender, were shortlisted for the project.

After a final round of interviews with our entire project team, we were ultimately successful in our bid.

We’ll be working together with main contractors MACE and design consultants SHW, with whom we completed the award winning Café Royal scheme in 2012.

The works encompass new facilities for the public including:

• A unique shop fitted cafe on Level 2 and coffee bar on Level 3

• A restaurant on Level 8

• Private members dining facilities on Level 9

• A fine dining restaurant on Level 10 and a bar area on Level 11

The Tate Modern’s extension comes after the huge success the Gallery has enjoyed in recent years. This success has put such pressure on the space available that as explained by their Director, Sir Nicholas Serota on their website, the Tate simply had to expand in order to keep its unique place in the world.

We are delighted to be part of that transformation.
