A recent event for National School Meals Week was hosted at Hafod Eryri, the visitor centre at the summit of Snowdon, at which C&C Catering Equipment installed commercial catering facilities. The location played host to the National School Meals Week team to launch the activity and build up to this year’s celebrations for 2nd-6th November.

Visitors to the summit were treated to four delicious samples of main courses, and two desserts, including Beef Casserole, Chicken Balti, Lamb Meatballs and Vegetarian Tikka, Sticky Toffee Pudding and Oaty Fruit Crumble, all of which were handmade by a selection of local chefs and served at the summit using equipment supplied and installed by C&C.

C&C’s Commercial Manager, Matthew, and Marketing Executive, Jessica, attended the event and were delighted to meet many cooks and representatives from the area, including 2015 SCOTY Winner Kate Davies, for whom this was the first official event since winning the prestigious title.

The iconic setting was perfect to demonstrate how far school meals have travelled in recent years and the event was the result of months of planning by a consortium of Gwynedd Council, Snowdon Mountain Railway, the NSMW team, and C&C Catering Equipment Ltd. The logistics of taking the food, invited guests, media representatives, the kitchen staff and event team up 3,500ft of solid rock and then back down again were certainly challenging!

C&C were proud to be part of the fantastic day, and to have provided great facilities to support and host the iconic event.
