Tuesday evening saw the return of the annual C&C sponsored Chester & District FA Senior Cup Final at the Deva Stadium, home of Chester Football Club. C&C Catering Equipment Ltd were pleased to sponsor the final for the 29th year, and are proud to be associated with local grassroots football.
C&C’s Peter Farrell and Matthew Kitchin attended the game between Blacon Youth FC and Upton AA, which saw a 1-1 draw at full time and a goalless extra time lead to an exciting round of penalties. With both teams scoring all of their first 5, Upton managed to take advantage of a Blacon miss and go home with the trophy.
Following a fantastic effort creating many chances and constant running, Man of the Match was awarded to Blacon’s Danny Davies, who celebrated with a congratulatory gift from C&C.
Commercial Manager Matthew Kitchin commented, “It’s great to be associated with grassroots football at a local level with the Chester & District FA. For the final to be at Chester’s stadium is fantastic for both fans and players. Having grown up in the area and playing for local teams, it’s good to go down every year and see the teams battle it out in the final for the trophy C&C sponsor.”
Peter Farrell, Sales Director, added, “C&C have sponsored this final for the past 29 years and we’re proud to continue to do so. It was another exciting final with both teams playing out of their skin – you could see how much it meant to both teams to go for the victory. The game being decided on penalties seemed fair as the game was very evenly tied throughout the 120 minutes of play. We’re looking forward to the final again next year and celebrating 30 years of sponsorship.”
