C&C’s Café Royal project has won three prestigious industry trophies at this year’s Catering Equipment Distributors Association (CEDA) Awards.

Winning the Profit Sector Large category, the FCSI sponsored Project Management Award and the overall Grand Prix Award, the highly complex project at Café Royal was C&C’s biggest catering scheme in their 30 year history.

Completed at the end of 2012 at the famous London landmark, C&C were a key part of the Café Royal’s extensive four-year refurbishment. Led by David Chipperfield Architects and in conjunction with FCSI Consultants Sefton Horn Winch, C&C helped transform the tired and dated kitchens into contemporary, state of the art catering facilities.

CEDA judges said: “Although this was  consultant designed the sheer size and difficulty of this project, incorporating ground breaking Co2 refrigeration, in a large complicated building to most demanding quality standards is truly impressive, this is catering installation at its best. A special mention must go to Mark Roxburgh C&C’s project manager who lived with this project for over a year and earned the respect and admiration of Executive Head Chef Andrew Turner and many others at the Café Royal.”

Café Royal is owned by Alrov Luxury Hotels and their Executive Manager, Nadav Salamon commented on the project saying “We’ve quickly come to learn that nothing is beyond C&C’s capacity – every request, addition or variation – all delivered on time or sooner in perfect shape and always with a smile. We are extremely proud of the outcome and C&C’s outstanding delivery and service have made it all possible”.

C&C’s Managing Director Peter Kitchin commented, “I want to thank my whole team for the fantastic work they’ve done on this project. Mark Roxburgh’s project management was of the highest quality and we’re all extremely proud to have been recognised by the industry with these fantastic awards.”

The 2013 CEDA GRAND PRIX AWARDS in partnership with the FCSI, (Foodservice Consultants Society International) took place at the 2013 CEDA Conference at the Fairmont St Andrews Bay Hotel on April 11th & 12th 2013.
