Chester Duck Race raises over £21k

C&C Catering Equipment Ltd was delighted to sponsor a duck at this year’s Chester Duck Race in aid of Countess of Chester Hospital. The annual event, which took place on Saturday 9th April, raised an incredible £21,000 for the Blue Skies Balcony appeal.

The family-run business was pleased to team up with St Oswold’s CE Primary School, with pupils doing an incredible job of decorating the duck in a chef’s hat and cooking utensils ready for the big race. With businesses throughout the city involved, the hospital raised funds to go towards the building of a balcony in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit to give vulnerable patients access to a safe environment.

C&C’s Managing Director Peter Kitchin commented, “As a local business, it’s great to have been involved with this year’s Duck Race and to have supported the Countess of Chester Hospital with their fundraising efforts. Thank you to all those involved for organising a fantastic event, and a special thank you to the pupils and staff of St Oswold’s CE Primary School who made the C&C duck look fantastic!”
