Given to C&C in October 2009, these areas were all completed by December 2009, yet again as a result of fast, accurate drawings and with our fabricator working long weekends and late nights alongside our install team to complete two out of the three areas. Although the third area subsequently ‘moved’ twice as the Hotel’s requirements shifted, that was also completed on time.

While this was going on, Mark Roxburgh worked with GWP’s Garry Nokes on the design of a new staff restaurant (The Nagomi) with a redesigned Meiko Dishwash area. The previous restaurant could no longer cope with the large increase in staff numbers taken on due to the success of the Connaught’s new extension.

The contract required Mark’s attendance at many late night meetings and some very early in the morning, to fit around unsociable staff rotas.
