For this project, we utilized a selection of high-quality catering equipment brands to ensure reliability and efficiency. C&C fabricated key elements on Levels 8 and Mezzanine, providing bespoke stainless-steel solutions tailored to the site’s needs. Other essential brands included:

  • Foster Refrigeration – Ensuring optimal food storage with high-quality commercial fridges.
  • Mechline – Providing essential plumbing and safety solutions.

  • EAIS & Proline Counters – High-quality storage and preparation solutions, ensuring seamless kitchen operations.

Areas of Work

Our scope of work covered multiple areas across different levels of the site, including:

  • Level 8 – Main Pantry Kitchen, where we installed and integrated key catering equipment.
  • Mezzanine – Benugo Prep Area, requiring efficient space planning and equipment installation.
  • Ground Floor – Benugo Coffee Bar Area, ensuring a seamless setup for high-volume service.

Challenges Encountered

This project was particularly demanding due to several factors. Firstly, as a Shine Project, we were brought in with only six weeks remaining, requiring us to act quickly and decisively. There were still outstanding design elements to finalize, which meant re-evaluating some of the mechanical services, including our ever-challenging drainage requirements.

Additionally, the location in Manchester posed logistical challenges, requiring our presence on-site for an extended period. I personally spent three weeks in Manchester overseeing the work, ensuring that all aspects of the project progressed smoothly despite tight deadlines.

Timescale

With only six weeks to complete the job, our team had to work efficiently and collaboratively to meet the demanding schedule.

Final Thoughts

The C&C team went above and beyond to ensure this project was delivered successfully. Despite working with two different consultants—each with very demanding specifications—our office team managed to navigate the complexities and keep everything on track. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, we were able to complete the project one week ahead of Practical Completion (PC), which was a fantastic achievement given the challenging circumstances.

Overall, this project demonstrated our team’s resilience, expertise, and ability to adapt under pressure, ensuring a successful outcome for all stakeholders involved.
