Listed buildings are always going to present a problem for a new installation and this project was no exception. Working with the college, Dan Thomas of Bidwells Project Consultancy and Kevin Barnes of FCSI member Peter Burholt Partnership, C&C Catering Equipment Ltd have now completed this challenging project.
Due to the listed status of the site, no walls could be altered and low ceilings had to stay just that – low! This meant for example that everything had to come through a single small doorway. Large items such as the 6m work top for the cooking suite and the Meiko dishwasher were brought in, in pieces and finished off in situ.
After completing the installation work we then had to organise 5 separate training sessions to ensure the College’s staff received the operational training they needed whilst the existing service continued.
