Mark started working with C&C in June 1998 and initially worked around the country installing numerous Road Chef projects for the company. This meant that for several years he travelled the country’s motorways, from Scotland to Southampton.

This was followed by a short stint in the company’s warehouse to help improve their goods management system before returning to his installation role around the UK.

After four years in this position, Mark was asked to take over from one of the Project Managers on a catering scheme for Standard Life in Edinburgh. C&C later entered this project into the annual CEDA Awards where they were runners-up. Inspired by this success Mark saw project management as his future career.

MD, Peter Kitchin and the other Directors agreed and assigned Mark to a number of key projects ranging from Styal Mill in Manchester to Lincoln’s Inn, the Home of the Magna Carta, in London.

In 2004 C&C won the project for the House of Lords kitchen in the Houses of Parliament and from that moment, Mark has been based in London Monday to Friday – a journey he has been making for eight years.

In 2011 Mark was the Project Manager on the £2.6m, multi-award winning Nomura Bank project which was awarded the CEDA Grand Prix for the year and was at the time, the largest catering scheme in London. For his work on this project, which was completed at breath-taking speed, Nomura awarded Mark a Shinkyo Sumo for outstanding customer service.

Now 18 months later he is working on the prestigious Café Royal in Piccadilly, again at present the largest project in the Catering industry.  He is based on site five days a week and works alongside some of the largest firms in the building industry.

Commenting on Mark’s promotion, Managing Director Peter Kitchin said, “Quite simply the reputation we have built is down to the project management we provide. In Mark Roxburgh we have one of the best Project Managers in the business, and even the most challenging scheme, like Cafe Royal, is like food and drink for Mark, he thrives on the pressure and always delivers.”

In his spare time Mark and partner Gillian head for the sun and have travelled to China, Mexico, USA , Cambodia & the Caribbean. This year they are off to Sri Lanka at Christmas once he finishes the Café Royal project.
