The cafe area was carefully designed to make use of the space inside the listed building, and included brands such as Britannia, Rational, Winterhalter, Falcon, Bravilor, EAIS racking, Mechline, Star Espresso Machines and IMC.
Challenges along the way included various site restrictions due to the nature of the historical venue, with items such as a traditionally ducted canopy being exchanged for a refresh hood to recirculate the air through a bank of filters before dispersing back into the kitchen. Additionally, the uneven ground in the Grade II listed building made for a difficult task when it came to carrying through the equipment, however this was overcome with careful planning and organisation.
Project Manager Andy Pace commented: “It was a pleasure to work on a local project, and we’re delighted with the finished product at this fantastic visitor centre. Working with new client Meadow Brown Restaurants was a great experience and we hope to continue our working relationship with them again on future schemes.”
