At the beginning of June, Project Manager Andy Pace successfully completed the Monte Carlo or Bust Rally with his team, transporting a cake from Belgium to Monte Carlo in one piece in a race against 80 rival cars, and raising an impressive £1,472.50 (and counting) for Macmillan.

To make the challenge even more interesting, participants were required to travel the long distance in a vehicle purchased for £300 or less. The team of four drove 2,700 miles in their “damaged/repaired” Vauxhall Vectra, which had previously been in a front end bump. One front wheel was 90 degrees to the other, which the team managed to repair in their spare time.

C&C were pleased to be one of the sponsor’s on the trusty car, with Andy flying the company flag on a decal above the rear wheel of the vehicle. Andy commented, “The whole event was fantastic, and we’re really pleased to have raised money for Macmillan. Highlights of the trip would have to be sitting in the back seat of the car dressed as a gorilla whilst driving through towns – kids loved it and their parents took loads of photos from their cars! We also managed 105 on the Autobahn too, which was a good achievement. Thank you to everyone who has helped raise money and awareness for this great charity.”
