As a regular supporter of local charities and fundraisers, we were delighted to be part of The Clink project at HMP Styal. As the first Clink facility established within an all female facility, the charity provides a restaurant in which chosen inmates are professionally trained in food preparation and hospitality. The concept aims to cut re-offending and help prisoners gain employment upon release.

The restaurant itself sits within an old chapel, and hosts a variety of historic features, making the location even more individual. The signature feature, The Clink’s open plan kitchen, is an ultra-modern facility designed by Sterling Foodservice Design.

We were tasked with the supply of the fabricated stainless steel tables, sinks and pass counter to Sterling’s specification and also co-ordinating the majority of equipment deliveries and installation.

Equipment included Adande, Chiller Box, Classeq, Environmental Products and Services, Espresso Service, First Choice Catering Spares, Gram, Hobart, Jestic, Leightec Ventilation Systems, Linda Lewis Kitchens, Marco Beverage Systems, Mechline Developments, Meiko UK, Mission Integrated Systems, Monika (UK), Nayati, P&L Systems, RH Hall, Shelfspan, Unox and Williams Refrigeration.

Our Sales Director, Peter Farrell, commented, “We’re delighted with the facilities and outcome at The Clink. It’s been a great and unique project to work on.”

Andrew Powis, Joint Partner of Sterling Foodservice Design, with his wife Elaine, added, “The whole concept of The Clink is fantastic, and we are thrilled to have been part of the charity’s work and are very proud of the outcome of the kitchen.  We wish to thank all concerned with the project for their efforts in achieving such high standards.”
